A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity of meeting JB and her mommy (and aunt too!)… Even though JB was only 6 weeks old the day we met, she had proved already that she’s a little fighter… She was born with an Esophageal Atresia and Tracheoesophageal Fistula which basically means that her esophagus was not connected to her stomach but rather ended in a pouch. Her esophagus was connected to her trachea causing her to suffocate on her saliva. She had surgery at children’s hospital and was in the NICU for two weeks following her surgery. She has recovered well and at this point they are unsure of the complications that lie ahead. She also have a tethered spinal cord which means another surgery in her future.
Her mommy heard of me through one of her friends, but she contacted me through ACPCG. I felt honored that she chose me for it. If you know of somebody that could benefit from this service please pass the voice.. :)
Anyway, here are a few of the pictures that we got.. Thanks M!.. I can’t wait to watch her grow!!.. :)
