Fiona…

I met Fiona over 5 years ago, I remember the first time I saw her.. we both were pushing our little 1 year old baby girls in the swings at the park, we both were pregnant with #2.. we smiled at each other and started to talk.. then we both were part of the moms group in the area and we became friends, playdates and lunchs together.. we had a lot in common, we both came as AuPairs to the states, we both got married to an american guy we both had a girl and were pregnant with boys, we were the same age. We clicked right away.

A couple of years went by, we both added 2 more kids to the mix, life got busy, we stop seeing each other that often and then Fiona got sick. I know first hand she fought and fought against it, I know she was fighting for her kids, I’ve never met anybody as positive as her… she kept the smile always. Yesterday Fiona lost her battle and my heart is broken for her 3 little ones who will grow without a mommy… I wish I can understand how life works sometimes… I know she’s not suffering anymore.. Fiona, rest in peace, you will never be forgotten.

This is her last year, when she decided to go back her home in Ireland to fight the Cancer next to her family. I took some pictures of her in their home. I know her kids will forever treasure this pictures.

Keep Fiona’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

Please take a second to read this awesome blog post about “The perfectt time to take pictures”… I know we think portraits and we stress about clothes, location, kids misbehaving.. I challenge you to think 20 years from now and see your kids faces when they look at those pictures.. Just do it.

So sorry to see this. I met her husband when he did our tile work on our home. He was wonderful and shared his story with me, just broke my heart. I will be praying for all of them… so sad. Beautiful pictures of a beautiful family.

I was just looking at these beautiful pictures of Fiona, Chris and the kids. What a lovely way for them to remember their beautiful wife/mum. I also met Fiona when I was an au pair in Atlanta. She was fun, full of life and taken from us far too early. Thanks for sharing these photos – it’s great to have happy pictures to remember her with x
